Titicaca Lake, the sacred center of pilgrimage in the Andes, from the heart of the Pachamama its energies restore our connections with the natural world, purify our inner forces and help us to understand the purpose of life.  The lake is the highest navigable lake in the world. Located in the Andes on the border of Peru and Bolivia.



Titicaca has lived a long life of millions of years.  It contains the sum of all the ages that have molded and defined the works that humans have undertaken in the southern Americas.  Lake Titicaca is the cradle of Incan civilization, and the origin of the Inca Empire.  It has been said that the secrets of the Inca Empire never got into the hands of the conquistadors because they are buried at the bottom of the Lake.

Note: this is suggested as an extension to the Peru, Machu Picchu /Cusco trip which continues on from LaPaz.
